Registration Pathways

This pathway is for individuals who are currently licensed in another regulated jurisdiction in Canada. 

Who Can Apply Through Labour Mobility

Professionals who are already licensed in another regulated Canadian jurisdiction may be eligible to register in New Brunswick through the Labour Mobility pathway. This pathway provides an expedited process for technologists who hold an equivalent licence and are in good standing with their current regulatory body.

You may apply for Full Practice registration through the Labour Mobility pathway if you:

• hold a current, valid licence to practise in another Canadian regulated jurisdiction
• are in good standing with your regulatory body
• have no findings of misconduct, incompetence, or incapacity
• are not currently subject to disciplinary, conduct, or incapacity proceedings
• meet the requirements as set out within NBRCMRT Regulations

This pathway is for individuals who:

• are enrolled in an Approved Education Program, or
• are practising or has practiced in non-regulated jurisdictions within Canada, or
• have graduated from an Approved Education Program within the last five years and have not yet began practising.

Who Can Apply Through This Pathway

The standard pathway is for students and graduates of approved Canadian programs who have not yet practised, and professionals who practise or have practised in a non-regulated Canadian jurisdiction.

You may apply for Student Affiliate, Provisional, or Full Practice registration through this pathway if you:

• have
  • completed an Approved Education Program in the last five (5) years or
  • five hundred (500) hours of practice within the last five (5) years in each specialty for which they are seeking registration
• are not currently licensed in another regulated Canadian jurisdiction
• have no findings of misconduct, incompetence, or incapacity
• are not currently subject to disciplinary, conduct, or incapacity proceedings
• meet the requirements as set out within NBRCMRT Regulations
  
  

This pathway is for individuals who have successfully completed a medical radiation technology or radiation therapy education program outside of Canada. 

Who Can Apply Through This Pathway

Applicants who completed their education in medical radiation technology or radiation therapy outside Canada must apply through the Internationally Educated pathway.

As a first step, internationally educated applicants must complete an assessment process. This assessment reviews their education and professional competencies to determine whether they meet the standards required to practise in New Brunswick. It also evaluates their readiness to provide safe, competent, and ethical care.

The assessment is part of the registration process. Applicants must meet the applicable regulatory requirements before they can be registered to practise in the province.

You may apply for Provisional or Full Practice registration through this pathway if you:

• have completed your medical radiation technology or radiation therapy education outside of Canada
• are seeking initial registration to practise in New Brunswick
• have completed the required assessment of your credentials and professional competencies and fulfilled any competency, bridging, or examination requirements identified within your assessment results;
• have no findings of misconduct, incompetence, or incapacity
• are not currently subject to disciplinary, conduct, or incapacity proceedings
• meet the requirements set out in the NBRCMRT Regulations

HOW TO APPLY

 All applications must be submitted online through our Registration Portal.

Step 1: Create Your Account
Create an account on the NBRCMRT Registration Portal using your email address.

Step 2: Select Your Registration Pathway
Once logged in, select your Applicant pathway

Step 3: Complete the Applicant Pathway Form

Step 4: Access the Full Practice Registration Form
After completing the Applicant Pathway Form, the registration forms will automatically appear on your dashboard.  Select and complete the registration form for the category of registration you are seeking (Student Affiliate, Full Practice, Provisional, other.).

Step 5: Upload Supporting Documents
Upload all required documents directly to your online application.

Step 6: Submit Your Application
Click “Submit” at the bottom of the form.
