Meet the Board of Directors

CHAIR

         JULIE MACDONALD

With 26 years of experience as a Technologist spanning across various modalities such as General Radiography, CT, and MRI, Julie has navigated through the intricate landscapes of both large and small hospital settings.

Her commitment to advancing the field is evident through her active involvement as the Secretary for the NBRCMRT Continuing Education Committee, where she utilizes her expertise to drive excellence in her role.

Currently, Julie proudly serves as the St. Joseph's Hospital Student Supervisor for students from the Horizon School of Radiology in Saint John, a testament to her dedication to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Beyond her professional endeavours, she pursue passions outside the medical realm, holding a yellow belt at the Fundy School of Karate and contributing her musical talents as a member of the Saint John Caledonian Pipe Band

VICE-CHAIR

         JESSICA CORMIER

Jessica graduated from Dalhousie University with her BHS in Radiology in 2011. She quickly returned home and began working at the Moncton City Hospital. While working she continued to study in CT and then graduated with her advanced certificate in MRI. She currently works in general radiology but loves helping out in the other modalities.

As a proud technologist Jessica chose to turn her attention to learning more about the association and all that makes it function behind the scenes. She hopes to gain a deeper understanding of her profession, and combine her experience with her willingness to learn to excel in her new position.

PAST-CHAIR

ASHLEY TEAKLES

Originally from Cape Breton, Ashley graduated as an MRT in 2016 with a BHS in Radiography from UNBSJ/The Saint John School of Radiological Technology.  Since then, she has worked in a large hospital setting as well as smaller, more rural hospitals, and enjoys both the challenges and quirks that come with each.

As someone who is always wanting to learn and know more, she became interested in the NBAMRT as a way to become more involved. She has already learned so much in her short time with the Executive Committee, and is excited to see what will come next.

One of her personal passions is agriculture, and she and her husband own a small hobby farm outside of Sussex, NB.

I’m transplanted “Bluenoser”, and I’m pleased to have called Saint John home for over 30 years. I attended the Institute of Technology in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and I graduated from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program at the “old” Halifax Infirmary.

After graduation, I worked as a general duty nuclear medicine technologist for ten years before moving into the role of Clinical Coordinator for the Nuclear Medicine Training Program. Over the years, I have had various roles in the both the classroom and clinical setting. In 2010, I became a full-time didactic instructor with the Nuclear Medicine Technology program. I have actively volunteered with the NBRCMRT and CAMRT over the past 15 years, seating on numerous committees.

First as a technologist and then as the supervisor, Crystal has been an active member of the NBRCMRT Complaints Committee.  More recently, she became the NB Director-at-Large for the CAMRT which in turn is also the Director of the NBRCMRT Executive Committee.
